Q&A with sister Kamillah
Sincerity in the pursuit of the truth.

Q: Why are people causing violence in the name of Islam?
The people have abandoned the original teachings of Islam and formed sects and denominations with each group rejoicing in that which it has. Some of these sects have become violent. All of this is a punishment from God because the people have abandoned the correct way. This extremism and sectarianism will only end when the people return to their religion.
Evidences
Indeed those who divide their religion and become sects, you (Muhammad) have nothing to do with them. Their affair rests only with Allah then He will inform them of that which they used to do. (Quran 6:159)
Say, “He is The Able One who can send upon you a punishment from above you or from under your feet or confuse you into becoming sects and make you taste the violence of one another.” Look how We vary the signs so they might understand. (Quran 6:65)
Comparative religion
Q: How is the Islamic creed different from other religions?
Islam is the religion of pure monotheism. It is the belief in the absolute oneness of God. He is One, He is Eternal, He neither begets nor was He begotten, nor is there anything equal to Him. He is The One God, The One Lord, and there is no god but Him. It is the call to believe in God and to worship only Him. It is the call to abandon the worship of others. As for the atheists, they do not believe in the existence of God despite witnessing the numerous signs within creation which testify to the existence of The Creator. As for the polytheists, they profess to believe in God while worshiping others besides Him. This false worship can occur by worshipping idols, celestial bodies and other objects within creation. It can also occur by saying God has a son or a daughter. All of this is polytheism because it negates the belief in the absolute oneness of God.
Evidences
Say, “He is Allah, The Absolute. Allah The Eternal. He neither begets nor was He begotten. Nor is there anything equal to Him. (Quran 112:1-4)
Say, “I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your God is but One God. So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him perform righteous deeds and not associate in worship anything with his Lord.” (Quran 18:110)
Science
Q: Is it true that there are scientific miracles in the Quran?
First, it is beneath the majesty of The Creator that science should validate the Quran. Blessed is His Name, exalted is His majesty, free and far removed is He from all imperfections. The Quran is the word of our Lord. Second, should The Creator not know? He created everything in existence and He revealed many aspects of creation in the Quran. This is the absolute truth. Third, the Quran is a miracle from God. Anyone who contemplates the perfection of its beauty and rhythm and language and meaning will conclude that this is not the word of a man. Fourth, scientific descriptions are only correct if they accurately describe creation. Sometimes they are correct and sometimes they are wrong. We must also examine the assumptions upon which the scientific theories are based. For example, the Big Bang theory is correct in the sense that there was a singularity which exploded giving rise to the heavens and the earth. Living creatures have been created from water. However, living creatures did not evolve from one another, which is a false scientific teaching based on flawed assumptions. Hence, scientific statements must be examined and if they accurately describe the creation then they naturally align themselves with the truth. Otherwise, they are mere speculation, and speculation is no substitute for the truth.
Evidences
Have those who disbelieve not considered that the heavens and the earth were a single entity then We separated them. And We made from water every living thing. Will they then not believe? (Quran 21:30)
